KC Chiefs CB Jaylen Watson confirmed surgery after playing through an injury in 2023–24.

Watson talked about an injury he sustained during the season and confirmed that the procedure went well.
The Kansas City Chiefs overcame a great lot of hardship to win Super Bowl LVIII. On the way to winning a second consecutive championship, players showed a tremendous deal of toughness and sacrificed blood, sweat, and tears.
It turns out that Jaylen Watson, the cornerback, should be at the top of that list, if not at the top.
The former seventh-round selection disclosed to X on Wednesday afternoon that he had an injury that kept him out of the game for nearly the whole season.
Following his participation in Weeks 1-3 and his 50 defensive snap total, Watson was not included in the victory against the New York Jets in Week 4. That was because of a shoulder issue, and September was obviously a roller coaster since he had to make a big decision. One need not be a rocket scientist to figure out that. Watson made the decision to play through the discomfort and complete the season, showing up for every game to end the regular season and postseason. Watson played 390 snaps in the last weeks of the regular season after his recovery from his Week 4 injury.
33 tackles (two for loss), six passes defended, two quarterback hits, and two sacks were his total stat line.
It’s feasible to estimate how long Watson would have missed if he had chosen to have in-season surgery because recovery periods and severity of torn labrums differ. In any case, his ability to push through the agony and play decent football is an incredible display of mental toughness. Watson is an important depth player for Kansas City, which boasts a strong cornerback group led by Trent McDuffie and L’Jarius Sneed (for the time being). He plans to return to the field for training camp and the 2024 preseason after recovering from surgery.
